How to prepare your skin for winter weather
The winter season is here!
*Plays my favorite Christmas playlist on repeat*

My favorite time of year is official here! If you’re like me, the winter season is all about jamming out to those christmas playlists and stocking up on those cozy scented candles ;) But it’s also a time to pay a little extra attention to my skin. The winter weather can be really harsh on skin so here’s a few tips on how to prepare and protect that skin for the winter season.
1 / Moisture, moisture, moisture
The winter weather can really dry out your skin so moisturizing is a must. We recommend EVE LOM’s Daily Protection Sunscreen for those winter days. Remember, SPF is still important! Even though we may not see much sun during the winter, your skin is still at risk against those UV rays.
2 / Keep moisturized through the night
Moisturizing shouldn’t stop after your day is done! No one likes waking up and starting their day with that skin tight feeling so it’s a good idea to keep your skin moisturized through the night. Adding a nighttime moisturizer such as bareMineral’s Skinlongevity Vital Power Sleeping Gel Cream to your routine can make the difference for moisturized skin.
3/ Keep away from stripping cleansers
Cleansers can dry out your skin by stripping away those natural oils. You should be able to remove your day without sacrificing your skin's hydration. Try switching to a more gentle cleanser. KORA ORGANICS Gentle Cleanser will leave your skin feeling clean and hydrated without over-drying your skin.
4/ Keep those lips moisturized.
You know winter time is approaching when you begin to feel the first signs of chapped lips (ugh!). Keeping a good lip balm in your bag can go a long way for those quick pick me ups. We recommend using Bite Beauty’s Agave Lip Balm. No one likes dealing with rough cracked lips so using a lip scrub every so often will help maintain those soft lips.
5/ Exfoliation is key
The winter weather can really add to the dulling of skin. Getting rid of those dead skin cells is important when trying to replenish and rejuvenate skin. Make sure to use a gentle exfoliator such as Mario Badescu’s Botanical Exfoliating Scrub to prevent dullness and reveal fresh and smooth skin throughout the winter season.
