A good skin care routine isn't just about the products - it actually starts with taking care of your overall self. Treat your body right and your skin will follow. The best part? Treating your body right is free ;)

Here’s some simple ways to improve your skin without any skin products:

1 / Eat healthy

First things first, a healthy diet is where it all starts. Load up on those fruits and veggies. Fish such as as salmon is also great because it contains Omega-3 fatty acids which can do wonders for your skin (Acne? Wrinkles? I don’t know her). Omega-3 is even AVAILABLE in the form of supplements. Spinach and avocados are also great for maintaining your skin.

2 / drink good liquids

Okay, I know you’ve heard this so many times, but drinking plenty of water is a must. Hydration from the inside out is key to dewy skin. Drinking water throughout the day can also aid in haulting those random cravings. Green tea is also a must. Did you know that green tea actually has anti-inflammatory properties? Tea is also a great substitute for that morning coffee.

3/ get your sweat on

We all know about the benefits of working out but did you know it’s also good for your skin? Working out increases your body temperature and naturally opens up your pores. Then, sweating encourages the release of toxins on your skin. Be sure to wash your face after!

4/ manage stress

If your like me, your skin is prone to stress acne. No one likes breaking out the day before a big event so taking steps to manage your stress will go a long way. Organize your life (who doesn’t love a pretty planner?), meditate, take a power nap, make time for the things you like to do!

5/ get enough beauty sleep

Getting enough sleep is an everyday essential. Getting an insufficient amount of sleep can have an effect on premature aging and the overall complexion of skin - and we all know about those under eye bags that show up when we haven’t slept enough (ugh!) So work on getting those full 7 hours of sleep and get your beauty sleep on. Sweet dreams ;)
