THE BEST BEAUTY INSPIRATION FROM THE OSCARS - Paradox

Paradox was founded with the notion that women can be anything they want to be. Our founder, Elise Gabriel, created a brand for women, by women, in the hopes of promoting female empowerment and the celebration of female strength and beauty. In light of this mentality, we here at Paradox take great pride in seeing women be recognized for their accomplishments.

The Oscars 2020 aired on February 9th, 2020, in which it honored many amazing women for their talent in the entertainment business. Through these award shows, we get to see just how incredible and inspirational women from all over the world truly are. We get to bear witness to their creativity, their accomplishments, their supportive nature, and their humility. Every year I am astonished by just how beautiful these women are both inside and out.

With that, I find that red carpet shows are the perfect place to find inspiration for your next beauty looks, whether you’re going out or simply want to spice up your everyday makeup routine. Thus, I took note of my favorite looks from The Oscars 2020 red carpet, so as to have instant inspiration for the next time I want to expand my beauty horizons.

Knowing that the #paradoxcommunity is always eager for new beauty inspiration, I’ve compiled the best of said list for you, as well:

1 / RENÉE ZELLWEGER’S BLUSH

Oscar-winner Renée Zellweger stunned the red carpet in a white sequined off-the-shoulder dress. To compliment this, she donned a simple face of makeup, sticking to neutral shades and natural-looking brows. The real show-stopper of this look was her blush. With a soft shade of pink on her cheeks to accentuate her natural beauty, Renée stayed looking fresh and glowy for the entirety of the night.

2 / FLORENCE PUGH’S BROWS

Similarly to Renée, Oscar-nominee Florence Pugh opted for a simple face of makeup. Her bright, layered dress was paired with soft, dewy pinks in both her face and eye makeup. These subtle colors allowed her brows to shine through as a star element of the overall look. Her brows were soft, so as to compliment the established aesthetic of her makeup. They were simultaneously shaped and natural, creating a flawless rendition of the no-makeup-makeup look that we all strive for.

3 / JASMINE CEPHAS JONES’S SMOKY EYE

Hamilton alum Jasmine Cephas Jones graced the red carpet in a black, low cut ensemble一 the sexiness of which was well matched with her smokey eye makeup. The darker shades and intense eyeliner worked to draw attention to her eyes and keep her face as the focal point, therein enhancing her natural beauty and presence.

4 / CYNTHIA ERIVO’S NATURAL LIP

Oscar-nominee Cynthia Erivo walked the red carpet in a stunningly intricate silver and white dress. To simultaneously counteract and compliment the detailing of her dress, she opted for natural shades on her face and lips. So as to add dimension to the look, she wore soft shades of gray on her eyes. Nevertheless, the natural lip remained the star of her makeup look, as it worked to draw attention to the crisp white of her dress and accentuate her natural glow.

5 / SCARLETT JOHANSSON’S SUBTLE METALLICS

Scarlett Johansson, another Oscar-nominee, matched her subtle metallic makeup to the metallic shine of her strapless mermaid dress. By using a light, shiny silver in the inner corner of her eyes, Scarlett elevated her look by brightening her eyes; this made the overall look seem more cohesive. With that, she also incorporated a subtle silver sheen in her highlighter to further polish the look.

6 / MARGOT ROBBIE’S CLASSIC RED LIP

Margot Robbie, Oscar-nominated for her role in Bombshell, was breathtaking in a soft, flowy black dress. She paired this with a subtle gold and yellow smokey eye, which complimented the delicate implications of the dress. Along with this was the show-stopping element: her classic red lip. Her red lip established the look as timeless, while also demonstrating the possibilities it offers. Margot’s red lip had a subtle orange undertone, which pulled in her eyeshadow and complimented the blue accents on her dress.

When trying out these beauty looks, it’s important to remember one thing: it’s all about having fun and finding what makes you feel beautiful!
