HOW TO PREPARE YOUR SKIN FOR WINTER WEATHER - Paradox

My favorite time of the year is officially here! If you’re like me, the winter season is all about jamming out to Christmas playlists and stocking up on cozy scented candles. But it’s also a time to pay a little extra attention to my skin. The winter weather can be really harsh on the skin, so here’s a few tips on how to prepare and protect your skin for the winter season.

1 / MOISTURE, MOISTURE, MOISTURE

The winter weather can really dry out your skin, so moisturizing is a must. We recommend our  Marrakech Liquid Gold moisturizing oil to keep you hydrated all winter long. Our 100% organic face oil is lightweight yet packed with omega 3 and vitamin E. This is our secret to having glowing skin all year round! ;)

2 / KEEP MOISTURIZED THROUGH THE NIGHT

Moisturizing shouldn’t stop after your day is done! No one likes waking up and starting their day with their skin feeling uncomfortably tight, so it’s a good idea to stay moisturized through the night. Adding a nighttime moisturizer, such as BareMinerals’  SkinLongevity Vital Power Sleeping Gel Cream, to your routine can make a difference for moisturized skin.

3/ KEEP AWAY FROM STRIPPING CLEANSERS

Cleansers can dry out your skin by stripping away your natural oils. You should be able to end your day without sacrificing your skin’s hydration. Try switching to a more gentle cleanser like Kora Organics’  Gentle Cleanser. This product will leave your skin feeling clean and hydrated without overly drying out your skin.

4/ KEEP THOSE LIPS MOISTURIZED

You know winter time is approaching when you begin to feel the first sign of chapped lips. (Ugh!) Keeping a good lip balm in your bag can go a long way for those quick pick me ups. We recommend using Bite Beauty’s  Agave Lip Balm. No one likes dealing with rough, cracked lips so using a lip scrub every so often will help maintain soft lips.

5/ EXFOLIATION IS KEY

The winter weather can really add to the dulling of the skin. Getting rid of dead skin cells is important when trying to replenish and rejuvenate skin. Make sure to use a gentle exfoliator, such as Mario Badescu’s  Botanical Exfoliating Scrub, to prevent dullness. It’ll also help reveal fresh and smooth skin though the season.
